Yes. Choose Custom in the crop settings and enter the desired width and height in pixels. Position the selection over the area you want to keep. The requested crop must fit within the available source image; cropping does not enlarge the original image.
Nimzoa supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP image inputs. You can also choose JPG, PNG, or WebP as the output format for your cropped image.
Yes. Nimzoa includes freeform cropping, the original image ratio, common presets such as 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, and 9:16, plus Golden Ratio and social-media crop options.
Yes. Use Rotate Left 90° or Rotate Right 90° in the editor. You can then adjust the crop selection and download the image in your preferred supported format.
Upload your image and select Flip Horizontal to mirror it left to right, or Flip Vertical to turn it upside down. You can combine these controls with cropping and rotation before downloading.
Yes. Nimzoa includes social media oriented crop options and common aspect ratios for square, landscape, and portrait images. Check the current dimensions required by your specific platform and placement before publishing.
Golden Ratio cropping uses a width-to-height proportion of approximately 1.618 to 1. Nimzoa includes a Golden Ratio preset so you can experiment with this composition when framing photographs and graphics.
Cropping selects an area of the original image and removes the rest. It does not restore missing detail. The quality of the downloaded file also depends on the chosen output format and encoding settings. Review the output dimensions and quality controls before saving.
No. The cropping operation processes your selected image locally in your browser. Nimzoa does not require you to upload the image file to its servers for cropping.
Cropping removes areas outside a selected rectangle, changing the visible composition. Resizing changes the overall width and height of an image. Use Crop Image to select part of a picture and Resize Image to change the dimensions of the whole picture.
Nimzoa's Crop Image tool is free to use, requires no account, and does not add a Nimzoa watermark to the downloaded image. It accepts supported image files up to 25 MB.
Cropping an image helps you remove unwanted edges, improve composition, focus on a subject, or prepare a picture for a specific layout. Whether you're editing a photograph, preparing a social-media post, adjusting a product image, or creating a profile picture, a precise image cropper makes the process easier.
Nimzoa's free online image cropper lets you crop JPG, PNG, and WebP images directly in your browser. You can drag the crop selection, enter exact pixel dimensions, choose an aspect ratio, rotate or flip the image, and download the result in your preferred supported format.
There is no account to create, and your image does not need to be uploaded to Nimzoa's servers for processing.
You can crop a photo in five straightforward steps:
Upload your image. Select a JPG, PNG, or WebP file from your device. The maximum input file size is 25 MB.
Select the area to keep. Drag the crop rectangle or its handles to frame your subject. Use the composition grid to help align important details.
Choose your dimensions or aspect ratio. Crop freely, select a preset, or use Custom to enter precise pixel dimensions.
Adjust the orientation. Rotate the image left or right, flip it horizontally or vertically, and use the zoom controls to refine your view.
Download the cropped image. Select JPG, PNG, or WebP output, review the dimensions, adjust quality where available, and save the result.
You can replace the image or reset your adjustments if you want to start again.
Different image formats suit different needs. Nimzoa supports three widely used formats for image cropping.
Crop JPG images. JPG is commonly used for photographs and everyday digital pictures. You can remove unwanted portions of a photo, improve framing, and export the result as JPG or another supported output format.
Crop PNG images. PNG is useful for graphics, screenshots, and images with transparent areas. When working with transparency, choose an output format that supports it. Exporting transparent content as JPG replaces transparent areas with a solid background.
Crop WebP images. WebP is widely used on websites because it can provide efficient image compression. You can crop a WebP image without first converting it to JPG or PNG.
The crop tool also lets you choose among the supported output formats, so cropping and changing the file format can be part of the same workflow.
Sometimes a visual crop is not precise enough. You may need an image area with a particular width and height for a website, profile, product listing, or document.
Nimzoa includes custom pixel-dimension controls to help you select an exact-sized crop within the available image.
For example, you might need:
A 500 × 500 pixel square from a larger photograph.
A 1200 × 675 pixel landscape area for a widescreen layout.
A 600 × 800 pixel portrait crop.
A small rectangular section from a larger screenshot.
Enter the required crop dimensions in Custom mode, then position the selection over the area you want to keep.
Cropping and resizing are different operations. Cropping removes pixels outside the selected area. Resizing changes the dimensions of the image itself. If your original image is too small for your required output dimensions, cropping alone cannot create missing image detail.
For changing the dimensions of an entire picture, use Nimzoa's separate Resize Image tool.
An aspect ratio describes the relationship between an image's width and height. Choosing the correct ratio helps your picture fit a particular layout without unwanted stretching.
Nimzoa provides freeform cropping, the original image ratio, common aspect-ratio presets, Golden Ratio cropping, and social-media-oriented crop options.
1:1 square crop. A square crop works well for many profile images, product thumbnails, and grid-based layouts.
4:3 crop. This traditional rectangular proportion is useful for photographs, presentations, and general-purpose image layouts.
3:2 crop. A familiar photographic proportion that suits many landscape and portrait compositions.
16:9 crop. A widescreen ratio often used for video thumbnails, website visuals, and landscape graphics.
9:16 crop. A tall portrait ratio commonly associated with vertical video and mobile-first content.
Freeform crop. Move the crop handles without locking the selection to a preset ratio.
Original ratio. Preserve the source image's width-to-height relationship while changing the visible area.
Selecting an aspect ratio does not automatically guarantee a particular pixel resolution. A 16:9 crop, for example, can have many different widths and heights.
The Golden Ratio is a proportion of approximately 1.618 to 1. It is often discussed in photography, art, and graphic design as a guide to visually balanced compositions.
Nimzoa includes a Golden Ratio crop preset to help you experiment with this proportion.
Golden Ratio cropping can be useful when you want a more deliberate frame for landscapes, portraits, artwork, or promotional visuals. However, no single ratio guarantees a better photograph. The best composition still depends on the subject, background, and intended use.
You can also use the crop grid to consider where important elements sit within the selected area.
Social platforms display images in different shapes and layouts. A picture that looks good in a wide landscape frame may lose important details when shown in a square or vertical format.
Nimzoa's aspect-ratio and social-media crop presets help you prepare images for common publishing layouts.
Instagram: Experiment with square, portrait, or landscape crops depending on the placement of your image.
Facebook: Adjust the crop to emphasize the main subject for a profile image or post.
YouTube: Use a landscape crop when preparing an image for a thumbnail or other wide-format visual.
LinkedIn: Choose a crop that keeps the subject clearly visible in a professional profile or graphic.
Vertical social content: Use a tall portrait ratio such as 9:16 when preparing an image for vertical layouts.
Social-media specifications can change, and different placements on the same platform may require different dimensions. Check the current requirements for your intended placement before publishing.
Cropping also removes part of the original image. If you need to preserve every part of a picture while fitting it into a different shape, you may need to add padding or resize a canvas instead.
An image can have the correct subject but the wrong orientation. Nimzoa includes rotation controls within the crop editor, so you can adjust orientation before downloading the result.
Use Rotate Left 90° to turn the image counterclockwise, or Rotate Right 90° to turn it clockwise.
Rotating an image is useful for photographs captured sideways, scanned pictures, screenshots, and images that need a different orientation.
After rotation, review the crop selection and dimensions. A quarter-turn changes the relationship between the image's horizontal and vertical axes.
Flipping changes the orientation of the image without requiring you to manually reposition every element.
Flip Horizontal mirrors the image from left to right. This can be useful when adjusting the direction a subject faces or experimenting with a composition.
Flip Vertical turns the image upside down. It can help create reflections, correct certain orientations, or prepare a specific visual arrangement.
Nimzoa includes both flip controls alongside its crop and rotation tools, allowing you to complete several common editing adjustments in one place.
Keep in mind that horizontal flipping also reverses any visible text or symbols within the image.
A precise crop is about more than choosing an aspect ratio.
Nimzoa's visual crop selection includes draggable edges and corners, allowing you to adjust the crop area while seeing which parts of the image will remain.
The composition grid can help you align horizons, center a subject, or position important elements away from the edges.
For finer adjustments, the editor also supports keyboard-based movement of the crop selection handles.
Zoom controls let you inspect the image more closely while editing. Zooming the editor's view is different from resizing the exported image; the final crop dimensions are determined by the crop selection and output settings.
If you want to see the entire image again, use the Fit control.
After adjusting the crop, you can download the result as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
Choose the format based on how you plan to use the image:
JPG: A practical choice for photographs and images that do not require transparency.
PNG: Useful for graphics, screenshots, and transparent image areas.
WebP: A modern format suitable for many website and digital-image workflows.
The editor displays output dimensions and includes quality adjustment controls where supported.
Higher quality settings can preserve more visible detail but may produce larger files. Lower settings can reduce file size, although aggressive compression may introduce visible artifacts.
Cropping does not automatically guarantee lossless quality or a smaller file. The result depends on the selected area, output format, image content, and encoding settings.
If your main goal is reducing the size of a file, Nimzoa also provides a separate Compress Image tool.
Privacy matters when editing personal photographs, documents, or business images.
Nimzoa processes cropping operations locally in your browser. Your image does not need to be uploaded to Nimzoa's servers for the crop to be performed.
This browser-based workflow also means you can begin editing without creating an account.
As with any online website, loading the page still involves ordinary website requests. The important distinction is that the selected image file itself is processed locally rather than sent to Nimzoa for cropping.
Cropping and resizing are related but solve different problems.
Cropping removes portions of the picture outside a selected area. It changes what is visible and can change the image's aspect ratio.
Resizing changes the image's width and height in pixels. It can make the entire picture smaller or larger without necessarily removing any content.
For example, cropping a landscape photograph into a square removes content from its sides. Resizing that same photograph changes its dimensions while retaining the original frame, unless another operation is applied.
Use Crop Image when you want to improve framing or select a specific area. Use Resize Image when you need to change the overall dimensions of the picture.
Keep the main subject visible. Before downloading, check that the crop does not cut off important faces, objects, text, or product details.
Choose the ratio for the destination. A website banner, profile picture, and vertical social post often need different shapes.
Use the grid for alignment. Grid lines can make it easier to straighten the visual composition and balance the subject within the frame.
Avoid unnecessary enlargement. Cropping selects existing pixels; it cannot restore details that were never present in the source image.
Review transparency before exporting. If transparent areas are important, use a format that supports transparency instead of JPG.
Check the final dimensions. A correct aspect ratio does not necessarily mean the image has the exact width and height required by your platform.
Save a copy of the original. Keeping the original file makes it easier to try another crop later.
Nimzoa brings together the most useful image-cropping controls in a focused browser-based tool.
You can crop visually, specify exact pixel dimensions, use preset aspect ratios, apply Golden Ratio and social-media crop options, rotate or flip the image, and choose among JPG, PNG, and WebP output formats.
You don't need to create an account or upload your image to a processing server.
Whether you're preparing a photograph, website graphic, social-media image, or screenshot, Nimzoa helps you create the crop you need and download it directly to your device.
