Choose the supported file from your device.
Use the available settings for the result you need.
Save the completed file directly to your device.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 25 MB. Choose Resize, Fit, or Fill, then enter your preferred dimensions in pixels or by percentage. Use aspect-ratio lock, presets, rotation, or flip controls if needed. Select an output format, click Resize Image, and download your result.
Resize photos and graphics to custom dimensions, scale images by percentage, preserve proportions, and prepare images for websites, documents, or social media. Choose Fit to keep the full image visible or Fill to cover a frame with cropping.
Supported image resizing is processed locally in your browser. Your image is not uploaded to Nimzoa's application servers for resizing. Website analytics are separate from the image content you process.
Downscaling is usually suitable for smaller uses. Upscaling can reduce apparent quality.
Changing one dimension recalculates the other from the original image proportions.
Fit keeps the whole image inside the output canvas, adding space where needed. Fill crops the image to fill the exact output size.
Yes, but enlarging an image cannot add missing detail.
No. Presets are convenience options only.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image and select Resize mode. Choose Pixels and enter your target width and height. Enable aspect-ratio lock to preserve the original proportions, or adjust the dimensions as needed. Click Resize Image and download the result.
Yes. Use proportional resizing to preserve the original aspect ratio, or select Fit mode to keep the entire image visible within a target frame. Fill mode may crop the image when the frame has different proportions.
Upload your image and select the Instagram Square preset for a 1080 × 1080-pixel frame, or enter custom dimensions for another layout. Use Fit to keep the entire image visible, or Fill to cover the frame, cropping when necessary.

Pixel dimensions describe an image's width and height. For example, an image measuring 1920 × 1080 pixels is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels tall.
Pixel-based resizing is useful when you need specific dimensions for a website, document, presentation, or graphic.
For example, suppose your original image measures 1961 × 544 pixels. If you change its width to 1200 pixels with aspect-ratio lock enabled, the proportional height is approximately 333 pixels.
The resulting image is approximately 1200 × 333 pixels, preserving the original proportions.
Percentage scaling changes an image relative to its original dimensions.
For a 2000 × 1000-pixel image:
Scale | Result |
|---|---|
25% | 500 × 250 px |
50% | 1000 × 500 px |
75% | 1500 × 750 px |
100% | 2000 × 1000 px |
150% | 3000 × 1500 px |
These examples assume proportional scaling. Enlarging an image increases its pixel dimensions but does not automatically restore missing detail.
Nimzoa supports three common image formats.
Format | Common Uses | Important Consideration |
|---|---|---|
JPG / JPEG | Photographs, product images and website photos | Lossy encoding can reduce image quality |
PNG | Logos, screenshots, illustrations and transparent graphics | Supports transparency; files may be larger |
WebP | Website images and digital graphics | Supports modern compression and transparency in compatible files |
You can resize images in these formats and choose an available output format.
If you need transparent areas in the result, choose a format that supports transparency, such as PNG or a compatible WebP output. JPEG does not preserve transparency.
Stretching occurs when the width and height are changed to proportions that differ from the original image.
For example, a 1920 × 1080 image has a 16:9 aspect ratio.
If you reduce its width to 960 pixels while preserving the aspect ratio, the corresponding height becomes 540 pixels.
The output remains 16:9, so objects retain their original proportions.
Aspect-ratio lock keeps width and height linked proportionally.
Enable it when you want to make an image larger or smaller without distorting its shape.
If your target frame has a different aspect ratio, consider using Fit or Fill instead of stretching the image.
Nimzoa provides three resizing modes for different results.
Use Resize to change the image's dimensions directly. This is useful when you need a specific width, height or percentage scale.
Use Fit when you want the entire image visible inside a target frame.
If the image and frame have different proportions, the output may contain unused space around the image.
Use Fill when you want the image to cover the target frame.
If the proportions differ, parts of the image may be cropped.
Your Goal | Recommended Mode |
|---|---|
Change width or height | Resize |
Preserve the entire image inside a frame | Fit |
Cover the frame without unused space | Fill |
Avoid stretching | Preserve aspect ratio |
Practical example: A wide photo placed into a square frame cannot simultaneously fill the square, preserve all original content, and keep its proportions unchanged. Fit preserves the full photo with space around it; Fill covers the square by cropping some content.
If you want to preserve the complete image, choose proportional resizing or Fit mode.
Proportional resizing maintains the original shape, while Fit places the image inside the selected frame without cutting off its edges.
Avoid Fill mode when every part of the original image must remain visible, because Fill may crop content to cover the frame.
Nimzoa includes an Instagram Square preset and supports custom dimensions for other layouts.
Here are some commonly used image dimensions:
Use | Common Dimensions |
|---|---|
Instagram square post | 1080 × 1080 px |
Instagram portrait post | 1080 × 1350 px |
Instagram story or Reel frame | 1080 × 1920 px |
HD widescreen graphic | 1280 × 720 px |
Full HD widescreen graphic | 1920 × 1080 px |
These are common design sizes, not permanent or guaranteed platform upload requirements.
To resize an image for Instagram, select the square preset or enter the required dimensions manually. Use Fit if preserving the full image matters, or Fill if you want to cover the selected frame.
Resizing changes the pixel information in an image, so completely lossless visual quality cannot be guaranteed.
When reducing dimensions, some fine detail is removed. However, the image may still look clear at its intended display size.
When enlarging dimensions, the browser estimates additional pixels. This can make an image appear softer or more pixelated, particularly when the original is small.
For better results:
Start with a high-quality original.
Preserve aspect ratio unless distortion is intentional.
Avoid repeatedly resizing and re-encoding the same file.
Select an appropriate output format.
Review the result before using it.
Nimzoa's Resize Image tool changes dimensions; it is not an AI upscaler or dedicated image-restoration tool.
Image dimensions and file size describe different properties.
Dimensions refer to the width and height in pixels, such as 1200 × 800 px.
File size refers to the amount of storage used, such as 250 KB or 2 MB.
Reducing dimensions often reduces file size, but the final size also depends on image content, output format, and compression.
If you need to reach a particular file size in KB, use Nimzoa's Compress Image tool instead.
Changing width and height independently can distort the image. Keep aspect-ratio lock enabled when appropriate.
Fill may crop edges. Choose Fit if you need the entire original image visible.
Increasing dimensions does not automatically improve sharpness or restore detail.
Pixels measure dimensions, while KB measures storage size. Resizing does not guarantee a specific output file size.
If the image has a transparent background, choose an output format that supports transparency.
Nimzoa processes supported image resizing locally in your browser.
